Founding new Clan Branches/Societies
The Chief and the Clan Elders are keen to see new Clan
MacMillan branches or societies
founded in states, provinces, or countries where the clan is not at
present represented. Individuals or groups of clanspeople who are prepared
to take on the task in their area should apply to the Chief for
appointment as "Conveners".
Such official authorisation is granted by the Chief when he is satisfied
that the clanspeople concerned are fit and proper persons to be entrusted
with such a task (i.e. personal references will be required) and that they
have a viable plan which takes into account the requirements set out in
the
Guidelines for Setting-Up and Running Clan
MacMillan Branches and Societies.
The Clan Centre will be happy to offer initial advice, and when the
Chief's official authorisation has been issued the Centre will provide the
Convener(s) with the names and addresses of known clanspeople in the area
in which the new branch or society is to be set up who may provide a core
membership for the new body.
