Second Generation

2. John M'millan [006] was born estimated 1744 in ? Southend, Kintyre ?, SCT. He died in 1816 in Robeson Co., NC, USA. He Emig. to NC early in 1774. John M'millan said in RMAF to have been born 14 miles south of Campbeltown, but that would be in the sea!
John emigrated with his family (wife Margaret M'neil and children Archibald & Malcolm) and his brother Malcolm and his family early in 1774. They lived for a while at Fayetteville, Cumberland Co., then settled near Shannon. Later they moved to the west side of Raft Swamp near Mt. Tabor Church.
Another book said to deal with this family is "The Scottish Connection: The Story of Robeson County Families Descending from John McMillan and his wife Margaret McMillan, daughter of John McMillan", by Mrs. Mable S. Louvin of Red Springs, NC, USA [who appears to disagree about the identity of John's wife].

Margaret M'neil was born about 1750 in ? Kintyre, SCT. She died in 1832 in Robeson Co., NC, USA. John M'millan [006] and Margaret M'neil had the following children:
