Blanche McMillan as Abbot of CTSCTS TO SPEARHEAD LONGTERM CLAN CENTRE FUNDRAISING
The Community of the Tonsured Servant, who are already the leading donors of funds to the Clan Centre, are to shoulder the main responsibility for long-term fundraising for the Centre. The Clan Centre Trustees have decided that it no longer makes sense to have both the Centre and the CTS trying to raise funds for the same thing, and that in future the CTS executive should take the lead in this, working with the retired Dean of Cornell University, Glenn MacMillan (New York) who has offered to devote his lifetime of experience in fundraising for charitable and educational bodies to doing the same for the Clan Centre. Glenn was pictured in the last issue of the newsletter with his wife Flower whilst attending the Maritimes gathering in Canada.

CTS Abbot Blanche McMillan (Burlington, Ontario), who is pictured left, has achieved something of a coup by persuading the authorities on Iona to allow the CTS to hold their Investiture Service - part of the July GR2002 International Gathering - in the historic abbey there. A number of new Companions will be inducted, and many existing Companions are taking this unique opportunity to renew their vows in the church described by Chief George as "the cradle of Scottish Christianity" (please see back page for more info on this special event).

CTS Founder, and Abbot Emeritus, Rev. Canon A. Malcolm MacMillan has announced his engagement to Doctor Patricia McCormick Dwyer. The happy couple will be married on the 4th of May, and "Father Mac" will be bringing his new bride to Scotland for the first time in July for GR2002.

Chief with McBainsCHIEF IN CALIFORNIA:
Chief George and his wife Jane enjoyed a wonderful visit to California in February, as the guests of the Clan MacMillan Pacific Branch and Clan MacMillan Arizona. Among the many notable events that they attended was a gathering and dinner on board the retired ocean-liner Queen Mary, and a visit to the Grand Canyon. George and Jane are pictured right with fellow chief James McBain of McBain and his wife Peggy at the Highland Games they attended as Distinguished Guests in Arizona, where the McBains live.
For pictures of George and Jane in California please go to the website of the Pacific Branch Southern

George and Jane will be returning to the USA at the end of May for the Glasgow Highland Games in Kentucky.
